What are my responsibilities as a landlord on deposit protection?

Within 30 days of receiving the deposit from your tenant you must protect it and provide your tenant and any ‘interested party’ (third party named on the protection certificate) with proof that it has been done. The proof is called the prescribed information. 

Insured:A Deposit Protection Certificate with a unique DPC number and our information for tenants leaflet will be produced.

Custodial: Deposit Protection Certificate with a unique Deposit ID (starting EWC) number and information for tenants leaflet will be produced.
